apples, oranges, we’re all round
My sister, on the phone, started with this:
…this guy was such an apple.
An apple?
Uh huh…an apple.
(I guess that’s what the kids are saying these days)
Wait, are you saying APPLE?
Yeah, AP-PUHL.
*crickets*
So, are some people, like, oranges?
WHAT??
If some people are apples, are other people oranges?
I mean, I still don’t understand what an apple is.
Oh my gawd, not [...]

I’m with the bandwagon
There’s nothing like waking up with a hangover to a dead albatross on aSunday morning news show whose stomach content, consisting mostly of plastic bottle caps, glows red, blue and yellow against a pile of feathers and muck.

but I don’t want to go to bed
Virtual shopping / “design research” / procrastination…it all makes me feel better. You?
Plug + Play transparents speakers. As seen on NOTCOT, via Geek Sugar.
How cool are these?? I have no idea how to get them, but this Per dude is good.

I’m dying to see Knocked Up.
My sister sent this deleted scene to me from the movie.

Walking back towards the subway on 34th Street, an onslaught of people paraded past me in the rush hour sunlight. Long shadows against the bright sidewalk made everyone’s figures lean east. I waited for a bus to take me the three avenue blocks to my train and watched a funny little woman with [...]

5 things
Procrastination is the bane of my existence.
I’m losing the battle on these things…even the ones I intended for myself.
Consider this a visual haiku of things I won’t get to use, things I might fight for, and things I will never get around to. (don’t bother looking for the 5-7-5, it’s not there)
and [...]

light footed monday
I had nothing to do on the train ride home yesterday.
I finished my book so I was forced to look around me. Surprisingly, I didn’t mind the view.
The theme seemed to be ‘couples’.
Good looking couples at first. Musical chairs positioned couple number one to the left of me, sporty, very [...]

the other white meat
Southerners used to scare me. Growing up in the south and the midwest in the 70’s and 80’s was get-toe…sort of. Moving from Tennessee to Ohio to Texas to Kansas and so on, meant that a lot of people found themselves staring at us “chinese” people for the first time, face to face. [...]

This Monday was a nail biter.
One of the worst in a while.
Rainy, urine smells everywhere, they’re every.where, sticky, humid, mffghmp…
fffffuck!
I almost lost it six different times.
Okay, I lost it once, and then almost again five different times.
Max greeted me with what is now known as the sprinkler. I opened up this kid’s diaper three times [...]

ripple
I was standing on the train in the middle of some grade school kids on their way to school last Friday. Two beautiful Asian boys were directly in front of me with their dads behind them, forming a loose human shield.
You can usually hear them before you see them as they solicit aid from [...]
